Hello after a long silence!
It has been a while since I have posted anything in here, but now when the Racing Season is just about to start (on Friday I'll be hammering the throttle at Motopark!) I thought I'd post some information on what has been done during the winter and spring time.
In the autumn we found a new garage for the Chevelle. Earlier it was at our home, but now when another project ('60 Impala 2D HT) had to be moved to our home's garage, this had to be moved too. Luckily we found a good place that's not too far away so in the autumn we moved this Chevy there.
Very little happened during the winter. Or actually, a lot of work was done for the Impala, but not much was done to this. When the winter was starting to come to an end, it was time to start working. We decided to order a new torque converter as the old Munsinger could have had a bit more stallspeed. Of course it meant that the transmission was taken off. While it was uninstalled, it was also checked but no major problems were found. Luckily.
Sorry these first two pics are poor cell phone pics... I didn't have a camera with me.
We ended up ordering the new torque converter from A1 and it has about 1000 RPM more stallspeed than the old one did. When the transmission came back from inspection, it was time to install parts back on place.
New tires are also installed on place and now we're back with Hoosiers! Valves were just adjusted yesterday and new oils and liquids are in. Tomorrow we are going to go back to our garage and see if it fires up and after that it will be put on trailer so that we are ready to go on 6 AM on Friday. There is a Test & Tune day on Friday and then Spring Nationals on Saturday & Sunday on Motopark Raceway.
I'll post a couple of more pics tomorrow and maybe a little video clip too... Stay tuned.
